These regional estimates should be interpreted with caution and should not be viewed as representative of entire regions. Rather, they reflect the average occurrence across the countries included in the Disrupting Harm study within each region. Differences between regions may be influenced by a range of factors beyond the underlying prevalence of technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and abuse, including variation in cultural norms, awareness of abuse, willingness to disclose sensitive experiences, access to the internet, and the broader social and policy contexts in which children live.
