Public Perceptions of the Present and Future of Myanmar 34 4.1 Trust in Opposition Figures The Spring Revolution—and its leadership—earned unprecedented public support, momentum that can extend beyond mobilization. This trust presents a unique opportunity to strengthen policy and program delivery. To identify its sources, the Blue Shirt team asked respondents how much they trust various opposition figures, both as individuals and as institutions. In general, a significant majority – about seven out of ten respondents – indicated high trust in both actors and institutions. Of these, former State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi stands out as the most trusted political figure, with the People’s Defense Forces ranking second.
