The 19 July 2026 demolition is one of the clearest examples of this type of
discrepancy. There was very little information shown around the location in the
demolition footage, including nearby buildings. Importantly, state footage
depicted the site as one tall singular building, but Myanmar Witness’s geolocated
imagery identified it as two separate buildings, with a much lower profile. Sentinel
2 imagery dated 2 June 2026 supports this and shows that the two structures were
clearly distinct at that time (figure 12).
