Case Study #2: The Mogok Airstrike provides clear evidence of real-world
consequences resulting from incitements to violence circulated on pro-military
council Telegram channels.
On June 26, the Hmine Wai Telegram channel called for airstrikes over Mogok, and
similar channels simultaneously spread incitements to attack Nawnghkio in Shan
State. By June 28, further calls for airstrikes circulated, citing alleged gatherings
of TNLA forces for group meals.
