Figure 12: Searching for knowledge on digital security
68% of respondents used online self-learning platforms to seek knowledge on digital
security, 54.86% used Facebook pages and groups, and only 48% of respondents joined
a class on digital security. In addition, we also found that 26.86% of respondents never
learnt about digital security.
All interviewees agreed that much work needs to be done to promote awareness
about digital security. As mentioned above, some organizations have begun to launch
digital security courses for women activists, and those participating in the CDM or the
resistance force. However, many of these are small-scale, one-time courses that benefit
women with access to civil society support, but are insufficient to reach the public.
