Tiangou Secure Gateway:
The Censorship and Control Center
Tiangou Secure Gateway (TSG) is the flagship product offered by Geedge Networks,
functioning as a carrier-grade or national firewall and traffic management solution with
comprehensive capabilities that are comparable to the Great Firewall of China (GFW). TSG8
allows for monitoring capabilities with extensive visibility of all user traffic in an entire
country,
while
also
facilitating
the
identification
and
blocking
of
web
content
and
applications. TSG is not dissimilar from a firewall appliance that one might deploy in a
corporate environment, but it’s able to scale to process the internet traffic of an entire
country. The technology does not appear to be restrained by human rights-preserving
ethical guardrails.
TSG’s capabilities are extensive with surveillance and censorship capabilities through Deep
Packet Inspection, the ability to identify and block VPNs and circumvention tools, throttle
traffic,
monitor,
track,
label
and
block
individual
internet
users,
and
infect
users
with
malware. The sections below describe these capabilities and then go into detail on how
TSG software and hardware is deployed and managed.
