How TikTok Supports Our Community in COVID-19

At TikTok, we strive to create a safe and welcoming environment where everyone
can be creative and express themselves openly. Any content that violates our
Community Guidelines will not be accepted.
We have chosen to share details of how we have strengthened our community
guidelines in Myanmar in order to make our platform more visible in order to keep
the platform secure. This includes our precautionary measures to protect the
security and integrity of our community, as well as detailed descriptions of content
and accounts that were removed by TikTok in the first half of 2021 (January 1st to
June 30th) in Myanmar.
Strengthening community guidelines
Community guidelines provide guidance on what is allowed and what is not
allowed on the platform. Technologically and socially, we need to make TikTok a
safe and secure environment for our community. Community guides are
constantly being reinforced and maintained, and community guidelines are
constantly being reinforced.
In the first half of 2021, 92,055 accounts were permanently deleted in violation of
TikTok's community guidelines or service policies. It also removed 879,650 videos
from Myanmar that violated TikTok's policies . We were able to identify and
remove 97.9% of these videos before any reports were received, and 90.3% of the
videos were removed before anyone could view them. 93.9% were removed within
24 hours of posting.
