Online registration of births and deaths trialled in Mon State
The government began testing an online birth and death registration system using mobile phones in Mon State on Monday, a senior government official said.
The trail, which was being jointly carried out by the ministries of Health and Sports, and Planning and Finance, was funded by UNICEF and Telenor.
“Practical data obtained from the testing will assist in drafting policies for nationwide birth and death registration on an e-platform,” U Set Aung, deputy minister for Planning and Finance, said
during the launch of the trial in Nay Pyi Taw.
