Their influence ranges from commerce and businesses to medical care, education, governments and their related organizations. The influence of modern telecommunications networks will tend to grow in the future. Therefore, following its completion this project is expected to bring the following benefits to the society of Myanmar: ● ● ● ● ● Reliable telecommunications networks will accelerate economic activities. Reliable telecommunications networks will make the people’s lives more convenient. The Metropolitan area communications network will stimulate activities in the urban areas. The extension of the telecommunications network will promote rural development. The development of the IT industry will increase job opportunities in this field. The qualitative effects described above will be apparent according to the increase in the number of telephone subscribers. However, the increase or decrease in the number of subscribers will depend upon many external factors, and it is difficult to measure only the effects of this project. Therefore, the indices described below will be used for the qualitative assessment, though they cannot be used for the quantitative assessment.
