The survey indicates that 72% of the respondents have access to Wi-Fi at home, and
66.29% of the respondents use mobile internet. Additionally, 18.86% of the respondents
use workplace Wi-Fi, and 3.43% of the respondents use the Internet through public
Wi-Fi. According to the survey, 20% of the respondents were found to be using the
internet solely through mobile internet.
3.1.3. Daily internet use of women
The survey found that 28.57% of women use the internet (3) to (4) hours a day, 21.14%
are online (8) to (12) hours a day, and 20% of the respondents use the Internet (5) to
(8) hours a day. This indicated heavy internet use among our respondents, with the age
group between 35-44 being the top internet users.
Women’s multiple roles and heavy household and caring responsibilities mean that they
are less likely than men to have free time to look for an internet connection or browse
the internet whether at home, at work, or at public places where free Wi-Fi is offered.
Women older than 50 in general tend to have less access than younger women. Older
women from lower income households usually have even less time and less chance to be
