Towns and Cities with Peaceful Protests Organized by Pro-Military Supporters In August 2024, following the capture of the North Eastern Command in Lashio, Shan State (Northern), by the MNDAA and allied forces, protests were held in Yangon and Naypyidaw. These protests were in opposition to the MNDAA's brutal actions, particularly after reports emerged that the MNDAA had executed innocent civilians, including doctors, nurses, and women and children receiving medical treatment at a military hospital in Lashio. The protests saw large-scale participation, with thousands expressing their condemnation of the violence committed by the MNDAA. In August 2024, during the heightened military tensions in Mandalay and surrounding areas, nationalist groups and the military supporters in Mandalay organized protests at the end of the month, called for no war in Mandalay.
