04 How Meta manages and governs human rights work Clear management and governance structures enable us to advance our work toward respecting human rights across all our programs, services, and policies. Our Meta Human Rights team guides the implementation of the Corporate Human Rights Policy, which is overseen by the President of Global Affairs and Chief Legal Officer. As described in our first annual Human Rights Report, the team’s tasks include promoting the policy’s integration into existing and developing policies, programs, and services; undertaking due diligence; and supporting the training of employees on the policy. The policy guides teams to build rights-respecting products, respond to emerging crises, and work with speed and agility to embed human rights at scale. Our Corporate Human Rights Policy commits us to periodic reporting to the Board of Directors on key human rights issues. The Audit & Risk Oversight Committee of the Board oversees the company’s various risk exposures, including human rights-related risks, and the steps management has taken to monitor or mitigate such exposures. The committee is periodically briefed on existing and developing work conducted by the Human Rights team. Human rights report 10
