Final Report 1.6 Chapter 1 Introduction Schedule of the Survey The survey team started their activities in December 2012 by preparatory work in Japan. After preparation of draft Inception Report, the team visited to Myanmar for first field survey and discussed with counterpart officials assigned to the survey work from MPT and confirmed the scope of work and schedule of the survey. The team carried out the first work in Japan analyzing the results of first field survey and prepared the basic concept of medium-term development framework for selecting the candidate projects to be implemented by Japanese ODA Loan. The second field survey was started at the end of February 2013 for further confirmation of existing condition of network components such as transmission media, switching nodes and supporting facilities as well. The team also discussed with counterpart officials for confirmation of basic concept and requirements from Myanmar side. The Progress Report was prepared after the second field survey covering draft medium-term communication development programs and list of candidate projects to support sound development of communication networks in Myanmar. The team carried out the third field survey from the end of April 2013 and discussed with MPT for the scope of works on telecommunication network development project proposed in the Progress Report. After coming back from the third field survey, the Interim Report was prepared taking the result of third field survey into account. Based on the Interim Report, the team carried out the network design and cost estimates on each component of proposed project. By reviewing the estimated cost, effect of proposed project implementation was confirmed and accordingly, Draft Final Report was prepared. The team carried out the fourth field survey from the end of August 2013 and made presentation of Draft Final Report and discussed the contents of the report with Myanmar side. After coming back from the fourth field survey, the team prepared the Final Report taking the results of the discussion during the fourth field survey into account. 1-3
