Group 3 - Local community members, primarily in conflict-affected areas
In 2024, local community members living in conflict areas, particularly in regions such as Sagaing,
Kachin, Karen, Chin, Magway, and northern Shan states, led a total of 40 protests. Of these, 24 took
place in Sagaing Region. The protests were organized throughout the year, with five or more occurring
in January, March, June, and September. In the remaining months, there were fewer than five protests.
