The human rights violations that were documented by KHRW represent only a small fraction of those occurring daily. Due to fear of reprisals and targeting of human rights defenders, journalists, aid workers and religious figures, many crimes against innocent people go unreported. In addition, there remain challenges on the ground, including safely accessing conflict zones and verification limitations. The perpetrator in all cases was the military junta, which often dropped bombs weighing up to hundreds of pounds onto unsuspecting civilians below. Those sheltering in temporary camps and displacement shelters were not spared, nor were women, children, the elderly or the disabled. KHRW emphasizes that the documented cases are both deliberate and happening at a concerning rate. Unless the international community acts swiftly, these attacks will continue to occur unchecked. “The military junta is the one bombing and killing people every day, including during the election. They need to be stopped by the international community, and those responsible for the atrocities they have committed must be brought to justice as soon as possible,”said another villager named Ah Din. Further, this report will present findings, analyze the collected data, and contextualize the broader impact if these violations continue without immediate action and accountability. The military junta has continued to commit atrocity crimes across the country with impunity. Our report will conclude with recommendations that prioritize the protection of civilians and ensure their dignity and rights are upheld. 6 | "Inhumane Acts" by KHRW 6 | "Inhumane Acts" by KHRW
