Annex 1 –Methodology note 1. Sample Design 1.1 Survey Representativeness - The survey aimed to be representative of both households and individuals aged 15 to 65 years old, in all accessible areas of Myanmar. The survey represents 298 townships (97% and 96.3% of total households and total population respectively) of entire Myanmar. Detailed statistics are provided in Table 1. - Myanmar has 330 townships. These townships were set to be Primary Sampling Units (PSUs). 32 townships from Kachin State, Kayah State, Kayin State, Chin State, Sagaing Region, Rakhine State and Yangon Region were excluded from the PSU sampling due to security concerns and inaccessibiity due to prevailing weather conditions. Details of excluded townships are given in Table 1. - The margin of error at a national level is no more than ±3%. The results can be disaggregated into six geographic regions and state/regional level. It can be further disaggregated as urban vs. rural locations, gender and age as appropriate.
