our 2016 survey, an increase from the 66%
observed in 2015. This translates to 48%
of the population aged 15-65 owning a
smartphone as at mid-2016 (Figure 48).

Analyzing features of the primary mobile
handset of mobile phone owners reveals
that these handsets are equipped with
capabilities needed for a good Internet
experience. Most of the available features
were Internet experience-related such as
camera, touch screen, applications, Wi-Fi
and Internet browser (Figure 42).
