Author Biographies Jenifer Whitten-Woodring is an associate professor of Political Science and Director of Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Her work focuses on the role media in repression and dissent and human rights. Mona S. Kleinberg is an assistant professor of Political Science at University of Massachusetts Lowell. She focuses on the effects of technology, media, and race on political cognition and decision making. Ardeth Maung Thawnghmung is a professor and Chair of Political Science at University of Massachusetts Lowell. Her areas of specialization are Burma/Myanmar, ethnic politics, political economy, and qualitative research. Myat The Thitsar is a PhD student of Global Studies Program at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Her work focuses on identity politics and political institutions in federal and transitional context.
